i believe the 30 activator w/ 525 breaks 80.
A 30 SB w/ 525 should do the same.
29 extreme w/ 496 HO breaks 80.

All are quite different from the pantera 28 though.

A 28' Pantera Full pleasure probably weighs 1000lbs more than the others you listed Storm...

I too run Stainless Marine exhaust. After my 10 year old manifolds started to leak 2 seasons ago, I almost broke the bank and bought a set of CMIs.
Reading this thread makes me vary happy I bought another set of Stainless Marine...

Its amazing isnt it?
28 Pantera is a heavy conventional V (4800-5200lbs). All the others you speak of, are lighter (4700 lbs), stepped hulls. A 30 Phantom, 30 Superboat, 29 Activator, 29 Xtreme, 29 Kryptonite, 29 Warlock, should all run mid 80s with a 525efi

hey pat / bruce i cant tell if you guys are agreeing w/ me or arguing w/ me.
but i'm saying those boats are quite different from the 28pantera. One boat i would compare to the pantera is the 28 saber. both conventional v's still being built today.
you could try to say the 28apache, but that is older school building technology. Todays builds have the ability of utilizing newer building methods. whether they use them or not is up to the builder.

... and i'm talking layups, materials, and curing... not design.

plus we all know the 28 pantera is not built to be the fastest out there, but to run out in big water and take the punishment where others can't. Standard straight heavy V.

So truth 525 runs 69 with 700 hp I ran 82 with 950 ran 92 on a good day 1000 hp 95-96 ?? So pantera 650 with 975 let say and conrad drive will slow him down alittle and spinning a trans cost 30 hp 90 mph with the right prop??

I am most certainly not arguing with you Storm.
No way one could expect a 5200lb straight V bottom boat to run as fast as a 4200lb step bottom boat given the same power...

Wasn't this thread about Stainless Marine exhaust?

Happy New Year Everyone!
